Research
Interest:
I study the role
of the oncogene c-Myc, and its antagonist Mnt, in the immune
system. Mnt and c-Myc may play
roles in the maintenance of hematopoietic stem cell populations, the
development of lymphocytes (T and B cells), response to infections,
and cancer. I am currently studying how both of these proteins
affect development of T and B cells and how these proteins
contribute to tumor formation. Ultimately, my goal is to identify
any cancer-causing effects of these proteins that could be reversed.
